Maria dos Anjos do Rosário

Maria dos Anjos do Rosário, is an Architect/Urban
Regional Planner and Civil Mining Engineer. President
of the Mozambican Association for Urban Development, and has
an Advanced Certificate in Development Management from the
University of Witswatersrand/Faculty of Management. She has
experience of teaching, setting up a national subsystem of
Technical Education and vocational training and working with
the Communities (rural and periurban) in participatory development
programs, empowering people to create wealth and achieve better
conditions of life. e is a member of the Maputo Municipal
Assembly through a civic group “Together for the city)
and promoted cultural programs of pottery, painting, drawing,
theatre, to various youth and women groups, including the
Catholic Girl Scouts.

Roberto Armando is Coordinator of the W.K. Kellogg
Foundation’s LeaRN program (Leadership Regional Network),
an initiative that aims to build the capacity of
leaders at local, provincial, national, regional and global
levels, and to increase community voices in the policy development
process as well as to strengthen young leaders for the 21st
Century. Previously he worked as a Training Officer for MS
Mozambique (Danish Association for International Cooperation
Mozambique), where his responsibilities included developing
the organization’s training policy, ensuring its implementation
and involving the organization’s major partners. Roberto
also has experience coordinating and counseling integrated
educational programmes, promoting rural extension services
and income generating activities and building organizational
capacity.

Álvaro Casimiro
|
Álvaro Casimiro, is the Coordinator of LINK
an association of more than 200 NGO’s operating in Mozambique.
His carrier has focused on training and the media, raging
from literacy campaigns and radio programming to management
consulting. He has held a variety of leadership positions
in Mozambican civil society over the past 25 years.

Paula Ferreira
|
Paula Ferreira, has been the Managing Director Partner
of Deloitte Touche in Mozambique since 2000. Trained
as an Auditor, she was previously with Ernest & Young
in Maputo, and owned and managed her own audit firm Sisteconta
Lda from 1988 to 1992.

Wyona Ferreira
|
Wyona Ferreira, is the Commercial Director
of JOACO Cimentos Internacional. Previously she served
first as Group Accountant, then as Sales Manager and finally
as General Manager of the Tannous Group of companies involved
in mining, motor trade and fuel retailing. Was a founding member
of Chairpeson of Financial Board, Igreja Immanuel presently
founding member of New Life Christian Center Mozambique Board
Member and specialize counselor.

Jamu Hassan is Owner and Chairman of
Mopac Holdings, a privately held company that invests
in over 20 companies representing a variety of industries in
Mozambique. Over the last ten years, Jamu has also served on
the boards of several companies, such as Carmoc - Cartonagens
de Moçambique, Mogás - Sociedade Moçambicana
de Gás and Schweppes Mozambique. In the past, he has
also consulted for multilateral agencies such as the World Bank
and Norway’s NORAD.
Jamu most recently received an MBA from London’s Imperial
College Management School at London University.

Juma
|
Juma Juma, is a self-employed Consultant of forestry
and forest products and was recently General Manager of Serracões
Reunidas, a logging, timber transport and Sawmill
Company in Zambézia. He has a BSc in Forestry and Forest
Products from the University College of North Wales, and a
Diploma in Forest Harvesting and Forest Products from Skogsbruksskola,
Sodra Viken in Sweden.

Benvinda Levy
|
Benvinda Levy is the Chairperson Judge for the Third
Civil Section of the Maputo City Judicial Court. Since
1999, she has been a Member of the Sub-Commission of Legal Reform
for Family Law and Successions. Previously, she served as the
District Judicial Magistrate for the Second Section of the Judicial
Court in Urban District #1. Since 1990, Maria has taught in
Faculties of Law (UEM, ISCTEM and ISPU), covering subjects such
as Civil Process, Family Law and Successions.
Benvinda received her license in Law from Eduardo Mondlane
University. She has been a regular contributor to Jornal Savana,
and has chaired the Mozambican Association of Women in Law.

Maria Luísa Mathe

Maria Luísa Mathe, is the Deputy Coordinator
for Employee Development for Financial Management Reform in
the Government of Mozambique. She was previously
Manager of Human Resources and training at the Ministry of
Planning and Finance. She has a degree in Mathematics and
Physics Education from Eduardo Mondlane University and Master’s
Degree in Human Resource Development from University of Manchester.

Quessanias Matsombe
|
Quessanias Matsombe, is the Owner/Manager of Complexo
Humula, a tourist facility in the Bilene District
of Gaza Province. He was previously a senior manager at BP
Mozambique and Shell Mozambique. He has studied Management
in Zimbabwe, London and Lisbon.

Carlos Mesquita
|
Carlos Mesquita, is the Managing Director of Cornelder
of Mocambique, a private company that manages the
Port of Beira, including stevedoring, ship operations, and
warehousing, collateral management and transport logistics
management. He has a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
and a Postgraduate Degree in Port and Shipping Management
from the International Maritime Transport Academy in the Netherlands.
Since 1998 is also the Honorary Consul for Netherlands in
Mozambique (Central and Northern part).

Leontina dos Muchangos
|
Leontina dos Muchangos is the National Director of
Women within the Ministry of Women and Coordination of Social
Affairs. She is also Project Director of the “Gender
Equity and Empowerment of Women” project, and is involved
in a partnership project between the government, NGOs and the
United Nations Fund for Population Activities. She was previously
a training officer for the Women’s Forum. She has been
a Member of the Policy Advisory Board of MS Denmark (1997 –
1999), and served as Chairperson in 1999. Leotina graduated
from Pedagogical University with a degree in Geography.

Filipe Nhussi
|
Since 1995, Filipe Nhussi has served as Executive
Director for Northern Mozambique Railways. He is also
a Lecturer of the Logic and Theory Complex at Nampula’s
Pedagogic University. Filipe is a Member of the Higher Education
Nucleus in Nampula, and is very interested in helping to promote
academics in northern Mozambique.
Filipe received his License in Mechanical Engineering in
Czechoslovakia, and has received additional training on railway
and port management in the U.S., Swaziland and South Africa.
He has also participated in management training courses in
the U.K. and India. Filipe was President of the “Clube
Ferroviário de Nampula” from 1993 to 2002.

A. Romeu Rodrigues

A. Romeu Rodrigues, is the
Managing Director of CETA Construcão e Servicos,
where he led a management buy-out and privatization of the company
in 1999 and where the majority owned by Mozambicans managers
and workers and the balance by a venture capital fund. He is
a leader in the business community response to HIV/AIDS, and
on issued of corporate governance in Mozambique. |

Baptista Salomão
|
Baptista Salomão, after holding various management
positions is accounting, services and industrial firms between
1975 and 1981 and teaching Economics, Management and Business
Administration 1979 to 1983 and the Commercial School
of Maputo, Salomão acquired Casa de Fatos de Baptista
Salomão Francisco a clothing store. He managed the
company between 1981 and 1986 and then successfully transformed
it into Baptista Salomão & Cia Lda, a manufacture
of PVC products and polypropilene woven bags where he is presently
Partner and General Manager. He has degrees in Economics and
Management from Eduardo Mondlane University and a Master’s
Degree in Financial Economics from London University.

Carlota Natália Salomão
|
Carlota Natália Salomão, is the Technical
and Production Manager of the paint manufacturer “New
Tintas 2000, Lda”. She has a degree in Chemical
Engineering from Eduardo Mondlane University and a Master’s
Degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Mário Ussene
|
Mário Ussene, is the General Director of the
Center for Arbitration, Conciliation and Mediation.
He was previously a Director of ENACOMO Group, and Owner/Manager
of several companies, including Empresa Jaime Inácio
Vassalo, Empresa ArtAfrica, Casa do Funcionário, and
ALADIN. He is a Founding Member of the Confederation of Economic
Associations of Mozambique (similar to the Chamber of Commerce)
where he also severed as President, and Etica Mozambique (a
corruption watch-dog organization).

Alberto Vaquina
|
Alberto Vaquina is a medical doctor and
the Director of Health for the Province of Nampula.
He received his medical training in Portugal in 1992 and has
held a series of positions of increasing responsibility in rural
medical services in Nampula. He has advanced degrees in Health
Management in Developing Countries and in Tropical Diseases
from the University of Bordeaux and the Universidade Nova de
Lisboa, respectively. He is a published author of two books
of fictional shorts and he was the President of the Association
for the Development of Nampula. |

Gomes
Zita
|
Gomes Zita, is the Deputy Managing Director for Operations
of Telecomunicacoes de Mocambique and a Member of the Board
of Directors. He is also a member of the National
Commission for Information and Communication Technologies
Policy. He is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from the
Higher Institute of Aeronautic Engineering of Kiev in the
Ukraine. He spent several years in the Air Force where he
headed communications and electrical engineering directovate
and has been a lecturer at the Faculties of Science and of
Engineering at Eduardo Mondlane University.
