From December 11-15, 2002, TechnoServe and the Aspen Institute - in
partnership with CETA Construção e Serviços -
will launch the Africa Leadership Initiative in Mozambique. The Africa
Leadership Initiative seeks to develop the next generation of community-spirited
leaders in Africa by conducting a series of four leadership seminars
for 20 participants in each of four African countries/regions.
The Africa Leadership Initiative is already
underway in Ghana (starting in March 2002) and in Tanzania/East
Africa (starting in October 2002). TechnoServe and the Aspen Institute
also held a pilot seminar in South Africa in October 2002, where
they plan to launch the Africa Leadership Initiative in 2003.
For the Africa Leadership Initiative in Mozambique, TechnoServe
receives funding from the West Foundation, the U.S. Agency for International
Development, and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, whose grant reflects
the partnership between TechnoServe and the Leadership Regional
Network for Southern Africa (LeaRN). |
