Nicky Roberts is an Associate Professor in the Department of Childhood Education at the University of Johannesburg. She director of Kelello Consulting, a small research and evaluation agency offering technical support services to government departments and other investors in public education. She focused on language (African languages and English) and mathematics development, and effective use of technologies. She holds a PhD in mathematics education (Wits) and two masters in education (Cambridge and UKZN). She is interested in how children learn and systems change in public education. She is currently tending to the growth of kick-ass PhD, masters, honours students, and primary school teachers. Nicky tries, and fails, to be a 1 quarter decent story-telling mathematician (with aspirations as a design engineer), mother, wife, and human.
